FROM BRAUNSCHWEIG OUT TO THE WHOLE OF GERMANY
Production scheduling and materials management have always been two of my favourite jobs in the brewery. Lots of information comes together on my desk, rather like a spider’s web, from Logistics to Production, Quality Assurance to Bottling. My job is to pool all the requirements together and produce a corresponding bottling schedule. Does bottling really run according to schedule? Have new orders been added in the meantime? Short-term schedule changes are part of everyday working life, as production schedule is predominantly influenced by the needs of our customers. If there are changes, we do our best to accommodate them. I am also responsible for setting up the “Central Materials Management” department within the OeTTINGER Group – from the initial idea, to its organisation and subsequent execution. That means in future we will centrally order and keep in stock everything we need to label and package our products – empty cans, labels, crown caps and screw caps. Overall we will coordinate around 1000 different packaging materials from here in Braunschweig for all sites throughout Germany.
LEAN STRUCTURES AND SHORT DECISION-MAKING CHANNELS CONTRIBUTE TO THE SUCCESS OF THE COMPANY
The lean structures within the company and the closeness we have to the management are two factors that set OeTTINGER apart. This is particularly important for us in Production Scheduling, as we have to be able to act fast and flexibly here. Approvals are obtained along short decision-making channels – efficiently and without friction losses. I am convinced that this has a massive influence on the success of the company. We don’t waste energy, preferring to use it sensibly in the right places. What disappoints me? OeTTINGER is grossly underestimated; there are far too many prejudices. But we are doing everything in our power to change this in future.
MUSIC AND CYCLING PROVIDES A BALANCE FOR MY WORK
In summer I like to cycle the 11 kilometers to the brewery and back home again after work. That really lets me enjoy being at one with nature and unwind. Apart from that I am a real fan of 1970s music and even set up a Genesis Fan Club with two friends. I still enjoy rummaging around in record fairs. Every now and then I might also pick up a science fiction book to read.

The OeTTINGER range has something for every taste. But Original OeTTINGER Mate-Cola is top of the list for me. It’s my absolute favorite of all our non-alcoholic soft drinks and I would really recommend everyone to try it.
