Career’s Path Compass in Harburg on 21 October 2017

The 16th Career’s Path Compass was held in Harburg at the end of October. OeTTINGER Brauerei GmbH was one of 118 exhibitors to present its apprenticeship training programmes at the popular training fair.

The Career’s Path Compass in Harburg offers school-leavers the opportunity to discover the most appropriate training career or degree course for them. Over the four hours it was possible to the school-leavers to find out about apprenticeship positions and also possible internships.

However the training fair is not just an ideal opportunity for school-leavers to find the right training career and find a suitable company in which to do this – it also represents a strategy for companies to combat the shortage of skilled personnel. The participating companies therefore have the opportunity to hold discussions with the potential employees of tomorrow.

Trainers Barbara Lechner and Johannes Lutz were on hand to provide information about training opportunities at the OeTTINGER Brewery, and a number of apprentices also attended, who could best describe their jobs to the school-leavers. Simon Hunstiger presented his career as a Brewer and Maltster, Johannes Scherer provided interesting insights into his degree course in Business Administration, and Tina Meierhuber described her career as an Industrial Clerk.

The OeTTINGER Brewery offers training for four different career paths at its site in Oettingen: as a Brewer and Maltster, Skilled Food Technician and Commercial Driver on the technical side, and as an Industrial Clerk on the commercial side.

Currently there are 19 young men and women undergoing training or completing a degree course at the OeTTINGER Brewery at its Oettingen site. Four are training as Industrial Clerks, seven as Brewers and Maltsters, three as Skilled Food Technicians, one as a Commercial Driver and four are completing cooperative degrees.

The training fair was a complete success. This was clear from the throng of people and great interest in our stand, combined with the rapidly emptied crates of drinks. The OeTTINGER Brewery stand was not just really eye-catching, it was also the “go-to-place” for thirsty and interested school-leavers and their parents.
