Gotha site: Jobs saved

Last Friday, the Paulaner Brewery Group GmbH & Co. KGaA and OeTTINGER Brewery GmbH signed the contract for the planned acquisition of the Gotha site by Paulaner. This will now be submitted to the Federal Cartel Office, Germany’s national competition regulatory agency, for review. The provisions of the contract envisage that the Gotha brewery site will be transferred to Paulaner as of December 31, 2022.

After months of intensive efforts to prevent the threat of job losses due to the operational closure at all costs, we finally succeeded in finding a buyer in Paulaner who is committed to retaining all jobs at the Gotha Brewery. This was a particularly important matter for our Managing Directors Pia Kollmar and Peter Böck.

Around 170 jobs in the areas of production, bottling, logistics and central services will be transferred to the Paulaner Brewery Group. The 23 employees at the Gotha site that work in the sales, export and marketing departments will remain with OeTTINGER.
