It's gold all round at OeTTINGER Brewery – popular Original wins multiple gold awards from the DLG jury
At this year’s DLG (German Agricultural Society) quality controls, six OeTTINGER Originals have taken first prize: Alongside the Alt, Bock, Weißbier 12 and alcohol-free Weißbier, both our naturally cloudy Radler and naturally cloudy alcohol-free Radler varieties in the iconic Steinie bottles also received gold awards. Quality criteria evaluated by the independent panel of experts include foam stability, taste and purity of the beer and beer-mix drinks. Characteristics such as alcohol and original wort content are also examined.
“A huge well done to our excellent brewers!”
Dr. Andreas W. Boettger, Managing Director of OeTTINGER Brewery, could not conceal his pride at these awards: “A huge well done to our excellent brewers! They have yet again impressed the DLG with their skill and unwavering commitment. Here at OeTTINGER, we are of course always delighted when external assessors so conclusively affirm our extremely high quality.”
OeTTINGER Brewery’s locations and beer are audited by independent experts on a regular basis. The fact that the brewery has once again received top results is a testament to its commitment to high product quality. Dr. Andreas W. Boettger explains: “Our attractive price structure does not compromise the quality of our drinks in any way. Good beer can also be affordable beer.”
The awards mean that OeTTINGER Brewery seamlessly continues its streak of success from previous years and can boast an impressive statistic: Since 1980, OeTTINGER master brewers have won a grand total of 291 awards, 143 of which have been gold, in addition to several state and national prizes.
About the DLG Awards
Every year, the expert judges of the International DLG quality controls examine the products of a large number of businesses in the food and beverages sector. Participation is voluntary. During the audits, the food and beverages are subjected to a range of tests. In addition to taste and smell, qualities such as alcohol content and original wort are also examined.
In order to qualify for the award, businesses must have taken part in the quality controls at the DLG test center for foodstuffs for five consecutive years and have won at least three awards on each occasion. After its fifth successful year of participation, the business is distinguished with the award for long-standing product quality. If a producer does not participate in the quality controls one year, or does not receive the required number of awards, it subsequently loses a claim to the award.
