Pia Kollmar ranked among the 100 most influential German businesswomen
In its first edition of 2021, the German business magazine manager magazin included Pia Kollmar, our majority shareholder and Managing Director of OeTTINGER Brewery, as one of the top 100 businesswomen in Germany. Alongside entrepreneurs such as Pia, the list also includes female CEOs, managers, supervisory board members, expatriates, partners and influencers.
A delighted Pia Kollmar says: “I was especially pleased to hear the news because it was so unexpected! To be rewarded in this way after investing so much of my life in the success of OeTTINGER Brewery, my family legacy, gives me real impetus and motivation to carry on in the same way. However, I don’t view this recognition as simply a personal success. OeTTINGER Brewery lives and breathes as a result of our extraordinarily committed employees and of course our outstanding Original OeTTINGER products.”
Through this initiative celebrating the top 100 German businesswomen, manager magazin is seeking to document and promote positive change in the world of business alongside its partner Boston Consulting. A top-level jury with representatives from business and politics was formed to select the women. As a result, the candidates from various industries were not selected on the basis of formal offices, but on the basis of their real influence.
First female president of the BierConvent International
The significance of Pia Kollmar for the entire brewing industry has also been acknowledged by the BierConvent International: At the turn of the year, her sphere of influence within the brewing industry was expanded as she became the new President of the association, which was founded in Munich in 1969. She had already been an active member of the association for three years as a “Notable”. The BierConvent International is a global institution that provides information on beer, in addition to conducting research into and working to preserve this drink, which has been an integral part of many cultures for 7,000 years.
Pia Kollmar starts in her new position as President of the Convent, which consists of around 200 international personalities from within the industry, with a very special goal: “It is not enough simply to criticize the fact that only a few top positions are occupied by women. When an opportunity arises to occupy such a position, such as President of the BeerConvent International, I am happy to take on the challenge. As a result, I see it as my duty to make this incomparably wonderful union of friends of beer from all over the world more accessible for women. Because the world of beer, including all of the emotional, social, economic, ecological and culinary facets that go with it, continues to be dominated by men – it is only when we all work together that we will be able to make our industry fit for the future in the best possible way.”
