Three action-packed days of fun: OeTTINGER Brewery Trainee Event in Gotha
Sharing experiences, making new contacts or perhaps catching up with familiar faces among the circle of trainees again – the 29 participants all agreed that the Trainee Event for apprentices across all OeTTINGER Brewery locations held between April 16-18, 2019 in Gotha was a roaring success. In previous years, the event took place at OeTTINGER’s headquarters in Oettingen and at the Mönchengladbach site. However, this year, all OeTTINGER trainees and their instructors descended upon Gotha. Florian Fahr, Site Manager, commented: “We invited our apprentices from all four brewery sites, in addition to those working at our logistics center in Walldorf, to an event where they could get to know other trainees at various stages of their training from our various production sites”.
One of several highlights from day one was the automatic bottle sorting during a tour of the production site. Day two saw many a heated race out on the track when the apprentices went go-karting at a nearby karting center. Afterwards, a visit to Friedenstein Castle was arranged, where together with their instructors, the trainees were able to see the castle’s casemates first hand. Head instructor at the Gotha production site, Franz Josef Brehm, explained: “The varied program has been hugely popular and resonated with all participants. It has shown us just how important the Trainee Event is for both apprentices and instructors in terms of facilitating even more effective exchanges of ideas and connecting with each other.”
