Top award-winning beer: Federal Award of Honour for the Mönchengladbach brewery

The German Agricultural Society (DLG) awarded the Federal German Award of Honour to OeTTINGER Brauerei GmbH in Mönchengladbach for the outstanding quality of its products. The highest award that German breweries can achieve was awarded this year for the ninth time. 190 breweries and over 1,000 beers took part in this long-established demonstration of quality this year. The beers produced by the OeTTINGER Brewery in Mönchengladbach successfully passed exhaustive tests in the laboratory and in the sensory tests. The following criteria were relevant for the experts when the DLG Food Test Centre assessed the beers: purity of taste, quality of bitter, full-bodied character, stability of taste during storage and the freshness of the product.
